September Goals

A girls got to have goals!

I have a few of them  for this month:

  • To modify my eating habits even more than I have. I bought myself a scale and have a meal plan, so all I need to do is get to it. I start tomorrow. I have an up and coming trip to Vegas, so managing my eating will be a challenge but, I am sure with Myfitnesspal and some restraint, I will be able to do good when it comes to food. I would like to see where I am at in 5 weeks.
  • To do 2 unassisted pull ups. Usually I need someone to help me get up there, but I am sure if I try my best I can get er done and feel like A BOSS!
  • To have better form when squatting with the bar. As I progress with my workouts, I am starting to do more, and I want to have the perfect form. I posted a video on IG of me squatting, and it was great, but I want to do better!

Sidenote: I would like to report, that I am on the verge of buying new clothes. My pants for work and leisure are all getting to be too big, and it shows. I wore some Skinny Jeans that were so tight at this time last year and now, they are baggy in the front and butt area. They also sag a little bit. This is not only exciting, but It lets me know, even if I do not feel the physical change, nor see it, it’s certainly happening. I hope that little side note motivates someone to keep going! Don’t stop! Results come if you put in the work and dedication!

Do you have monthly, or annual goals? What steps are you taking to achieve them?

Mini Vacay

Where do I begin!!!

I went to Dallas for a few days to get away before school begins. It was my last little hurrah before I really tie myself down and dedicate my time to my studies. I started out around 9am packed my bags, and Gizmo’s stuff, filled up my tank and I was off! I arrived in Dallas around 1. Got Gizmo settled and caught up with my homegirl I was staying with. She was taking a little girls hair down and I helped. Why not. It was cool. Then we went out to a lounge called Winston’s. It was a nice little spot. It was difficult to find!!

After that we went to fuel city tacos and that was… Interesting. Lol. Well the way people dressed/acted.

The next day I woke up early for a ten minute run, and a 20 minute walk with gizmo and my friends dog Peanut.20130819-193537.jpg

I guess I had one taco too many? Lol. After that I met up with a friend who used to live in Houston at Max’s Wine dive. Delicious as usual. I highly recommend the wings and the cinnamon rolls are amazing. I didn’t even know they had those!

After that I took a huge nap and went to Al Biernats with my good friend, Brandi,  that also lived in Dallas for Dallas Restaurant Week. I had an arugula salad, steak and potatoes with green beans and key lime pie for dessert! Yum! 20130819-193604.jpg20130819-193557.jpg

After that we went to this Chocolate bar and the chocolate was amazing. They had a live band and tables set up to play cards, dominoes, chess ect. It would be perfect for a first date. After that we went to Sunset lounge where I met my friends Alumni friends and went home after that.20130819-193611.jpg

Sunday, I walked the dogs watched TD Jake’s with my friends parents and went to brunch with friends(Nakia and Brandi) . The food was delish. We ate at The Greenroom Cafe. It was wonderful. After that I relaxed went to Petsmart for Gizmo and went to Maggianos for dinner. The food was superb!

Overall, I had an awesome trip and I look forward to going back. The weather was far less humid and I got an opportunity to roll my windows down! Hope everyone had an eventful weekend!

Friday!

Friday!

It is here and I am excited! My plans this weekend are to go apartment hunting, workout, play with my dog, spruce up my house and possibly go to The Heights White Linen night.

It is a neighborhood hosted event where people in the Heights host a night where everyone wears white linen. There is art displays, food, dancing, socializing, and music! It is a huge community event and people come from all over Houston to be apart of this one night! Exciting right?

Today, I am incredibly exhausted. I am already contemplating drinking another cup of coffee. I got caught up last night…..reading a book. Yes, My name is Sharde, and I am a NERD! I love to read and I do not do it as often as I would like to. I however, am back for now, reading, and letting my imagination run wild. I get this intrinsic happiness from reading a book and letting my imagination freely express itself. There is nothing like a book. I was too impatient to wait on the second movie about The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire, so of course I read the book. On my Kindle. Thanks to Amazon Prime, you can borrow best selling books once a month for free!!!! Amazon knows how to please it’s consumers, that is for sure.

The book was amazing and I am excited about the up and coming movie. Happy Friday!!!
