This weekend came together nicely. I am walking with my Company in the annual UNCF walk for education on Saturday and that should be fun, then I am participating in a biking event with my sis in Prairie View called the Tour de pink. It’s an annual biking event that raises money for Breast Cancer research. Really exciting stuff!

Tuesday WOD

 

This was the workout I did yesterday. I did it with so much enthusiasm, my trainer was shocked. He wondered what had gotten into me and whatever it was, I needed to keep on with it. I told him it was probably my food intake. That was my guess. My guess was also, that I was coming off of a Mini Vacay and my spirit was refreshed. Hopefully I can keep my enthusiasm up. I ran 25 hills and did not complain once. I did 16 in a row without one tiny break. I did not let the fatigue discourage me. The only thing I was not successful at was my workout on the pull up bar. That’s okay, I will work at it.   I hit the punching  bag like someone had offended my Mother! I was in a rare, but welcomed beast mode. Do you guys have days like this? It felt amazing that my trainer was happy about my performance. Let’s see how Thursday pans out. I am excited.

Today I read the latest entry from the Ascent blog and she challenged me. To do what I feared the most. 10 pull ups!!! I am going to do it. By the end of this year. I am going to do it! Watch me work! Another update on my ever changing physique. My abs are starting to play peek-a-boo. This means one thing. They are on the rise. I have never had abs. Well I have had a silhouette (What I am working with now) If I keep up with my clean eating, and my workouts, I will have a little something something. I will keep you guys posted! HURRAH!

Monday Game Changers

It’s Monday!

 

How was everyone’s weekend? Hopefully blissful. Mine was a busy one. I spent the earlier part of my Saturday getting my hair done buying a crate for my dog, and getting an oil change. So interesting huh? I also hung out with my friend Karena and we headed off to our Friends child birthday party. It was in this beautiful location on the Northside of Houston called the Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Such beauty check out the website if you are looking for some amazing outdoorsy things to do.

It was fun. Thanks to my bright colors, a Wasp fell in love with me and kept following me. I am absolutely terrified of those creatures. So I looked crazy ducking and dodging. LOL. After that I went back home and fell asleep. For HOURS. I ended up making it an HBO night and watched Looper. Boy that movie was very interesting! Crazy ending. Bruce Willis typically stars in great movies. I did not see that ending coming.

 

 

Today I am introducing another #GameChanger this one involves Michael Jordan.

He was an amazing athlete in his prime and has set the standard for where basketball skills across the board are today. With 5 MVP’s and 10 – All time NBA awards. There is no denying this mans talent. Michael was the best in Attack and Defense when it came to basketball. His fluidity in mastering these two skills and combining him made him one of the biggest threats to other teams in the NBA that were not the Chicago Bulls.

Jordan was the first complete basketball players and this is another reason why he is considered a #GameChanger. According to Tribesports,  He was “One who combined strength, pace, power, scoring prowess, defensive skill and sheer heart and determination. Jordan showed that to be the best basketball player you need to have everything. He showed it was possibly to lead the scoring charts, while also leading the defensive charts. Friday Game Changers

It’s Friday!

 

It is almost everyones favorite day of the work week. Hope everyone is having a marvelous Friday. This weekend, I have plans to get my hair did (Intentional) and go to my friends Sons 2nd Birthday Party! Baby Sye(Josiah) is an adorable wonderful little guy and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Now all I have to figure out is what do 2 year olds like?! I hear Yo Gabba Gabba is all the rage for kids his age. I am sure I will figure it out.

Tribesports wanted me to introduce you to some Game Changing Facts with you. Game changers are events in sports that changed the dynamics in sports or competitive competitions forever. They gave me  four to choose from over the course of this week and next week I will introduce a few of them.

 

The 1st one is for all of my Runners out there. Scientists said that it was physically impossible to Run a mile in under four minutes. That there was no way a human could keep a steady pace of 15 mph up to make that mark. Well, Roger Bannister trained for years to prove this theory wrong and prevailed! The current record holder is  Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco in 1999 (3:43:13).

How to get Obstacle Strength Ready!

 

Anyone doing a rough and rugged obstacle course this summer?

Well if you are, this post is for you. All my Spartan, Tough Mudder, Mud Run racers get pumped! If you are looking for a form of training, and it takes training for these events, trust me, you can find it here. You need lots of strength and endurance when tackling these events and this circuit Tribesports has put together, will get you pumped and fit for winning a rugged and rough medal! Our goal is to get you across the finish line and give you the confidence you need to accomplish your obstacle tasks!  You have an A and B superset and you have to push through!
