Thursday WOD

This Thursday my workout consisted of:

  • 15 min run for a warm up
  • 30 second plank
  • 2 min jump rope
  • 10 hills
  • 4 min jump rope
  • 20 hills
  • 3 rounds of 30 second planks
  • 5 rounds of 6 reverse pull ups with a body band

Whew! what a workout! I should have snapped some pictures, but sometimes when you’re in the zone you are only concerned about surviving the workout and water lol!

Yesterday was my little brothers 27th birthday and my mom went all out and cooked a ultra southern meal. Fried cabbage, fried pork chops, homemade macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice, fried chicken, green beans, baked chicken, and chocolate cake. Oh and Kool-Aid. My mom did her thang! I of course could not say no to such a delight, and ate like it was going out of style. LOL. Let the bloat come on! It was worth it! Thanks Mom!

This Labor day holiday, I think I am going to go to a pool party a friend is hosting, and go to my Family Reunion in the country. I have some choices to make a big part of me wants to lay low and relax and chill out, but family comes 1st so you might catch me on the road to the country! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday!

WordPress Anniversary!

Do you know what today is?!

It’s my WordPress anniversary! How exciting. Well I would like to thank my sister for letting me know that WordPress was an excellent choice as a platform for blogging. I appreciate her, I would not have had the amazing opportunity to connect with bloggers that I have in the past 12 months.

Yesterday I worked out with my trainer and boy, I sweated. I ran for 1 minutes, then we went right into 1 minute 30 second planks, jumping jack planks(My informal description), side planks, situps of every kind. Bad punches, rope thrusts and jumping jacks in 96 degree weather. We got it in. Despite me and my chronic run in with an occasional wasp(I think they are stalking me wherever I go)  I did not complain! This is big. lol. I was so dead after this workout. I needed that. I did not bring my polar so, I have no clue what I burned or what my heart rate was.

I ended Thursday by watching the Chernobyl movie. It was cool, and very creepy. I turned on the lights and hugged Gizmo. lol. Hopefully everyone has a great weekend and thank you for journeying with me on this one year blogging span. I appreciate you all!

It’s My Birthday!

It’s My Birthday! It’s my birthday. 28 today I’m in 1st place. I have received tons of well wishes and Instagram posts from my friends. I feel loved. Thanks to everyone I appreciate you all! I made it to 28! I am happy with where I am at in my present life and I am looking forward to the new experiences I will embark on. I have a career, I have ambition, I have a 401k! I am blessed to take vacations! I love to workout! I enjoy being a pet owner! I love the Lord! I am just grateful. Thursday I will be going to Vegas  and as they say these days I’m going to TURN UP! Hopefully, I won’t wake up in a new Bugatti, because the way my bank account is set up….. I owe Sallie Mae. LOL.

On a fitness note. I tried a new workout yesterday and got my heart rate all the way up to 185! Wow! I also broke the machine but that didn’t stop me! lol try it out if you dare!

15 Minute Burn

I tried a new upper body workout last night and it was AWESOME!!!

But first I follow TribeSports on Instagram and they had a Leg/Ab Superset and challenged everyone to do 5 rounds.(get the workout here)

SuperSet!

SuperSet!

140 calories, and half an episode of Bad Girls Club later I was feeling supercharged! Those 2 minute planks are no punk!

I subscribe via email to Womens Health magazine, and they always have a good workout they send at least once a week. I love the instructionals and the workouts are detailed and well explained. So, I received this workout and did 3 rounds of  each set and let me tell you I felt the burn! I used 10lb weights thinking I’m a BOSS and that workout at the end had me thinking the 10 lbs = 100 lb weights. Hope someone finds this as interesting as I did and challenges themselves to try it. I also did a warm up of sorts by doing a 400 meter run. You can get the workout here
