Thursday WOD

This Thursday my workout consisted of:

  • 15 min run for a warm up
  • 30 second plank
  • 2 min jump rope
  • 10 hills
  • 4 min jump rope
  • 20 hills
  • 3 rounds of 30 second planks
  • 5 rounds of 6 reverse pull ups with a body band

Whew! what a workout! I should have snapped some pictures, but sometimes when you’re in the zone you are only concerned about surviving the workout and water lol!

Yesterday was my little brothers 27th birthday and my mom went all out and cooked a ultra southern meal. Fried cabbage, fried pork chops, homemade macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice, fried chicken, green beans, baked chicken, and chocolate cake. Oh and Kool-Aid. My mom did her thang! I of course could not say no to such a delight, and ate like it was going out of style. LOL. Let the bloat come on! It was worth it! Thanks Mom!

This Labor day holiday, I think I am going to go to a pool party a friend is hosting, and go to my Family Reunion in the country. I have some choices to make a big part of me wants to lay low and relax and chill out, but family comes 1st so you might catch me on the road to the country! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday!

Tuesday Workouts

Garage Fit did it again,

My workouts just keep getting better and better. I really was proud of my performance yesterday! I was a little nervous because I tend to struggle on my 1st days back after a 2-3 day break from my session with my trainer. I grabbed my dog from Doggie day camp and booked it to my trainers. Traffic in Houston was…..difficult to get around.

Yesterday’s workout consisted of:

Warm up: 15 min run w/ Gizm0

3 rounds of:

  • 15 dead lifts w/ 135lbs
  • 15 squats w/ 115lbs
  • lunges up and down the driveway on an incline 6 times (3 up the driveway, 3 down the driveway)
  • 50 jumping jacks with rope
  • 7 hills

After I found out how much I deadlifted and squatted I felt like this:

I got a 3 minute rest in between the rounds, and it was intense! Having my dog there really distracted me though. I didn’t complain. I have another session this Thursday before Critical Mass and I am contemplating working out for Bootcamp on Saturday since I don’t have a hair appointment this weekend. I ended the night by going home, cooking a nice chicken pasta meal ate that and had some cantaloupe for dessert I cut up earlier in the week. Yum.

My trainer thinks that I can do better and I can step it up even more. I am shocked. I did not know he had that much faith in me. Shoot. Well that goes to show you, that you should give yourself more credit! It’s nice to have someone who thinks you can do amazing things and encourages you to take it to the next level! Did I mention having a personal trainer/working out is in a little way a form of therapy? For me it is. If I have had a bad day, I just take all my anger, and channel it into my workout. If I am feeling lazy or that I cannot do a certain workout, my trainer is there to push me.  Well hope everyone is having a productive humpday!

Tuesday WOD

This was the workout I did yesterday. I did it with so much enthusiasm, my trainer was shocked. He wondered what had gotten into me and whatever it was, I needed to keep on with it. I told him it was probably my food intake. That was my guess. My guess was also, that I was coming off of a Mini Vacay and my spirit was refreshed. Hopefully I can keep my enthusiasm up. I ran 25 hills and did not complain once. I did 16 in a row without one tiny break. I did not let the fatigue discourage me. The only thing I was not successful at was my workout on the pull up bar. That’s okay, I will work at it.   I hit the punching  bag like someone had offended my Mother! I was in a rare, but welcomed beast mode. Do you guys have days like this? It felt amazing that my trainer was happy about my performance. Let’s see how Thursday pans out. I am excited.

Today I read the latest entry from the Ascent blog and she challenged me. To do what I feared the most. 10 pull ups!!! I am going to do it. By the end of this year. I am going to do it! Watch me work! Another update on my ever changing physique. My abs are starting to play peek-a-boo. This means one thing. They are on the rise. I have never had abs. Well I have had a silhouette (What I am working with now) If I keep up with my clean eating, and my workouts, I will have a little something something. I will keep you guys posted! HURRAH!

WOD

Yesterday,

I had my session with my trainer at #Garagefit. It included:

It literally put me to bed. I actually had a sweat pool on my back and on my torso, which is huge for me. I honestly believe that I have hypoactive sweat glands. Meh. I came home to my eager dog, only to disappoint him by falling asleep. I even attempted to watch Catfish, and ended up turning it off and going right to bed. I have to work late tomorrow so another Workout session with #GarageFit is due. I will post the workout and let you know how it made me feel.

Some personal goals I would like to accomplish this month:

  • Work on my patience( I sometimes have a moment or 4 of impatience)
  • Find an apartment (My rent increased substantially so, I have to find a more affordable place)
  • Pay for someone’s Coffee via Drive- Thru.
  • Buy/Rent my books before the 1st day of school so I will not fall behind.

Do any of you have any personal goals you would like to accomplish this month?

Transformation Tuesdays and some!

Yesterday was Transformation Tuesdays,

It is something I have never participated in until yesterday. I publicly posted to my social networks my weight loss, and my goal of maintaining a healthier lifestyle. I did not expect to have so much support. I am truly thankful for the positive feedback I received. The social networks are not the most positive of places but, yesterday, it was for me! If you didn’t have a moment to read my previous blog, I am 15 lbs down from 198 and currently 7 lbs down from my goal weight. It took me over half the year with set backs, injuries, and snack attacks to just not wanting to workout. I kept going even if I snuck and had whataburger, even if I indulged in cake and apple pies. I pushed through and I hope I motivate someone to keep going. It is tough, nothing worth having is not easy to obtain. You can do it. I am proof!

Here is the picture I posted to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter

Yesterday I went to my beloved #GarageFit and it was a cardio day. I did 4 sets of 1 min jump rope and 30 seconds of jumping jacks with 2lb weights in each hand. Exhausting! I then did 3 sets of 20 rotating lunges and 15 hills. MY GOODNESS I burned almost a 1000 calories and my heart rate max was 183. I feel the burn a little bit today. Today I am thinking about pumping some air in my bike tires and riding around my neighborhood. I want to participate in Critical Mass this month, but I have other obligations that will preoccupy my time. I can always do the Monday ride, or the Ghost Mass ride to suffice. Anywho happy hump day everybody!

How are your fitness goals coming along? Any set backs? What motivates you to keep going?
