Ya girl went in! I wish the Bicep Emoji could be inserted here. That’s how I felt. Also, I am on this new meal plan and so far so good. I haven’t felt hungry since 6am. I meal prepped for 3 days since I will be going out of town for the weekend and I am sure I can maintain my little plan when the weekend hits. I just have to pack the non-perishables and possibly purchase some perishables. Here goes one of my meals I believe this is meal 3.

Tomorrow I will get some cardio in and probably do some light work on Saturday whenever I get to my destination. Happy Friday Eve everybody!

Labor Day Weekend Recap and Monday Workouts

This 3-day holiday weekend could not have been better 🙂

Yes, I am all smiles. On Friday, I got to participate in Critical Mass and it was so much fun. We rode 20 miles! TWENTY! Here are some pictures:

This guy had ALLLLLL the jams!

How we roll!

That was some of the awesomeness that happened. People had their speaker systems, and had amazing music playing. There was even a point where about 100 bikers broke out into song singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Awesomeness.

I ended my night by crashing and falling asleep. The next day, I picked up my brother and my niece and we were going to head out to the country for my step-mom’s annual Labor Day Family Reunion. I stopped to have a date 1st *smiles* (I left my bro and niece back at my Dads house close by before I went on my date LOL), then we were on the road. I had a great time. I got to see some of my Step-Mom’s fam spent time with my Step-Bro and Step-Sis (which are practically like my blood brother and sister) and then I left to come back to Houston. I dropped my brother and niece off and went out dancing. It was a great time :-). After that I went home and was invited to go to Church, but I ended up oversleeping O_O. So I missed service, and ended up catching a movie and seeing the Butler. It was great. I bought some new workout shoes!

They were like 49 bucks thanks to a special someone having a military discount :-), and then went back and kicked it in Humble with a special somebody :-). After that, I went back home to rest, and play with Gizmo, and submitted some homework that was due. I was supposed to go a pool party but ended up chillin at my pool, which was cool. I ended the night watching Red Tails.

Monday, I ended up relaxing and went back to Humble to chill for a bit, and then headed back to my side of town, and relaxed. I was so relaxed, I fell asleep! Like an old person! My sister came by with her LS, and her LS’s BF and his nephew stopped by which was cool.

Tuesday I worked out with my trainer, he wants to put me on a meal plan. Thats cool because I have new goals, and I need to reach them by eating correctly. The workout consisted of:

Warm up: 15 min run

3 rounds of 6 inches for 45seconds

2 rounds of  6 inches then knees to your chest (25 times, never putting your feet on the ground)

50 jumping jacks with ropes

Lunges to the street stop sign and all the way back to the house

75 jumping jacks with ropes

Lunges to the street stop sign and all the way back to the house

3 sets of 20 squats with 45lb barbell

Slight work! here’s a video:

You have to work for what you want! Well hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday I am!

Beast Mode and some

Good Morning,

I woke up this morning a little stiff, and you know what! I am very okay with that. I am starting to do some lifting in my workouts and boy, let me tell you, it is interesting. Not only is it a challenge, it really takes concentration. Yesterday’s workout with #GarageFit consisted of:

15 min run for a warm up

25 hills

3 sets of bench-press w/ 20lb barbell @15 reps

3 sets of reverse pull ups with body band

3 sets of bench-press w/ 20lb barbell with 10lbs on each side @15 reps

3 sets of shoulder press w/ 40lb barbell

3 sets of reverse planks hold at 30 seconds each

3 sets of dumbbell lat flys w/ 10lb weights

3 sets of dumbell hammer curls w/ 10lb weights

15 hills.

Beasty. I have also found that if I eat a Banana w/ peanut butter. My performance increases dramatically. So tomorrow I am attending #GarageFits Boot-camp. I will definitely blog about it on Monday! Also, I picked up my books for school, and I need to go buy a few notebooks for notes! I need a laptop too, but that can wait.  I typically always have access to a cpu. A laptop is just far more convenient. Happy Friday everyone!

Workout Struggle

What workout isn’t a struggle?

On Tuesday I absolutely struggled. I threw up, I felt queasy, I kept quitting. I was disappointed in myself. I tend to go through this once a month. It was all due to my diet the past weekend. Eating the right kind of foods absolutely pays off. Well, on the weekend I ate fried chicken and had a coke, and on Sunday my only option in the hospital(Where my niece was being born) was McDonalds. So of course, I struggled something serious. Here was my workout:

Warm Up: 15 minute ,jog 15 hills

Workout:

  • 10 box jumps 10 lunges
  • 30 jump squats
  • 10 squats with 25lb weights in each hand
  • 10 lunges on an incline with 25lb weight
  • rope thrusts with 15 squats

This workout was intended to be repeated for 3 rounds, and I only  made it to one. Hopefully today’s workout can be conquered and I can pick up my pride and ego off the ground. I am not going to let this one bad day discourage me. There are going to be more highs in workout sessions than lows. After all, the workouts are meant to be challenging.  If you aren’t feeling challenged then, you might not be as productive in your workouts as you could be. Today I will strive to do my best.

Transformation Tuesdays and some

It appears that my draft for yesterday’s post did not save, however I was able to recover my work and post it for today.

So I am going to give a weekend recap and give my latest Transformation Tuesday!

Friday was a fun night,
I went out on the town, I went out to happy hour at a very fancy schmancy place, Trulucks. I had Pinot Noir, and a Crab Cake and Scallops with Mash potatoes, that were flavorful, fresh, and scrumptious. I then went to grooves where my Pinot Noir kicked in and I instantly got sleepy. Maybe I should have went to Starbucks for a Nightcap. Meh.20130805-150025.jpg20130806-102815.jpg

Saturday, I woke up bright and early to do Cardio circuits with my trainer. A little back story, he was extremely upset at my performance on last Tuesday, (He asked me to run for 30 mins in 100 degree weather and I refused) Instead I did 30 hills, and my knee was sore so he made me take off on Thursday. He told me he wanted no excuses on Saturday. The sun was out and we did 3 rounds of sprints at 4 different stations he had set up. For 2 minutes at each station me and a few other clients:

  • 50 yard suicides
  • Bounding and high-knees for 50 yards
  • 5 points of running backwards, forward sprints, backwards, jog
  • 2 25 yard suicides with one 10 second rest

I Mia Hammed it on the 3rd round(Took My shirt off). I was FINISHED!800+ calories burned!

20130805-145945.jpg

I went on about my day and, spent some QT with my sis at the pool.

20130805-150007.jpg20130805-145959.jpg

I also did some apartment hunting and we saw some very nice apartments. We have narrowed down where we want to live and I couldn’t be more excited! I had a nice meal and wine prepared for me in the evening and it was very relaxing!

Sunday, I woke up and went to The Galleria with my good homegirl, and we went to Kona ate some sushi, had a few drinks, and did a little window shopping.

20130805-145936.jpg

After that I was a bum! I read my book on my Kindle (The Hunger Games Mockingjay), and watched a little of the Preseason Cowboys Hall of Fame game, and HBO, Showtime, Style Network, and Bravo!.

20130805-145928.jpg

Now time for Transformation Tuesdays! I have been tracking my workout progress and I am finally at the point where I really can see the change in the photos! My mind has to catch up I still see myself as the person I was in January, give it time I should get with it. Here is my transformation:

20130806-102835.jpg

Thanks to my eating, and trainers efforts, I am shredding! WHOOP! I hope someone finds this inspirational. It is still a tricky road. I still love fried chicken, and loads of carbs, however, I am making sure I do cheat, but I do not go overboard. Today I have a session with my trainer, I really hope it isn’t another cardio day, but for some strange reason I feel like it will be. Anywho, Happy Tuesday!

Transformation Tuesdays and some!

Yesterday was Transformation Tuesdays,

It is something I have never participated in until yesterday. I publicly posted to my social networks my weight loss, and my goal of maintaining a healthier lifestyle. I did not expect to have so much support. I am truly thankful for the positive feedback I received. The social networks are not the most positive of places but, yesterday, it was for me! If you didn’t have a moment to read my previous blog, I am 15 lbs down from 198 and currently 7 lbs down from my goal weight. It took me over half the year with set backs, injuries, and snack attacks to just not wanting to workout. I kept going even if I snuck and had whataburger, even if I indulged in cake and apple pies. I pushed through and I hope I motivate someone to keep going. It is tough, nothing worth having is not easy to obtain. You can do it. I am proof!

Here is the picture I posted to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter

20130724-091553.jpg

Yesterday I went to my beloved #GarageFit and it was a cardio day. I did 4 sets of 1 min jump rope and 30 seconds of jumping jacks with 2lb weights in each hand. Exhausting! I then did 3 sets of 20 rotating lunges and 15 hills. MY GOODNESS I burned almost a 1000 calories and my heart rate max was 183. I feel the burn a little bit today. Today I am thinking about pumping some air in my bike tires and riding around my neighborhood. I want to participate in Critical Mass this month, but I have other obligations that will preoccupy my time. I can always do the Monday ride, or the Ghost Mass ride to suffice. Anywho happy hump day everybody!

How are your fitness goals coming along? Any set backs? What motivates you to keep going?

supersets1

This superset will not only make you look fab, but the conditioning will help you increase your endurance and speed in the pool. Not a swimmer? Well, this workout is still made for you. It can help boost your confidence to take the plunge and learn how to swim or, just be plain old good looking and sexy! I am all for looking sexy now. So let’s all take it together here at Tribesports.com

Yesterday I ran my 800 meters! Yipee! Now I want to challenge myself to run farther. I think I will FINALLY use my knee brace. I have been absolutely opposed to it, because I think I am SuperWoman and the sun will heal me. Not likely. My bike decided to catch a flat while I was riding it yesterday and I had to cut my bike ride short. 😦 I will buy a pump and also see if I can patch my tire up, this is only my 3rd time riding it. I burned a good 300 calories. Yay!

I have made a few blogger friends out there and I was invited to join Under Armour’s What’s Beautiful Campaign and let me tell you. It is absolutely the best. It has a whole community of women who have their own personal challenge when it comes to a fitness goal and has excellent ways to challenge/motivate/achieve those goals you set.  I recommend any of my lady bloggers/readers to sign up for it!  You can go to http://whatsbeautiful.ua.com and follow me on there at shoedooo (my universal username for anything). I signed up for I can do 6 miles on my bike and I will!

Find out what motivates you

Get out there and try

Have positive thoughts even if you do not achieve your goal in the timeframe you set. You can still achieve it

Look at your effort and progress!

Just a few things to stay motivated. Hopefully it helps 🙂 Happy Thursday everyone.

Weekend Recap

What a wonderful weekend!

I started it off with a bicycle ride around my city. I participated in “Critical Mass” where bikers from all over town meet up at one location and ride out for 20 miles with no particular destination. Was it a challenge? If you count 20 miles as a challenge then yes! Was it fun, absolutely. It motivated me to want to ride more. I bought a bike the day of and had a difficult time getting an entire bike in my sedan (I do not recommend it), and once that was all set I had some seat issues but a quick stop at Lowes and a few minutes later I was ready to go. Now the lower part of my glutes feel sore, but other that that, I feel fabulous! Here are a few pictures from my Instagram (@shoedooo)

Pretty cool eh? So Saturday I spent my day at my brothers baby shower. He is having a girl with his Fiancee. I will be an Aunt for the 3rd time! This makes my mother aware that I am childless and I get the whole, “When are you going to settle down and give me some  grand kids talk” Ehhhhh. Give me a few years Mom. I need a boyfriend 1st! I was also the most competitive in the baby shower games. I love to compete what can I say. I have 2 cool prizes now. A bread and oil set and a margarita set! Oh yeah! I ended the day re-connecting with an old high school buddy and frolicking at the pool. It’s summer and the pool is a lovely thing.

Sunday I was a bum. Completely. I slept in and played with my dog. I got into a minor fender bender (No biggie!) and had the most hilarious dinner with my closest homegirls. My life experiences are super hilarious according to them. We had tons and tons of laughter! My friends Chicken Tetrazzini was so delicious. Oh. Carbs + Cheese = a lovely explosion of deliciousness. So what did you all do this weekend? Hope it was as fun and adventurous as mine!
