Homecoming Weekend

This weekend was action packed!

I managed to take two midterms ( I made a 90 on one!), Participate and attend my company’s annual BBQ cookoff, and go to Prairie View A&M’s homecoming. Pretty cool huh.

Friday I worked a half day at work and headed out to the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds to help set up our departments tent and practice our skit that we were going to perform for the judges. I had on a blue wig, blue lipstick eye shadow and even spotted lashes! That was my 1st time wearing fake lashes. I kind of liked it!

We performed, had a great time, and partied to the wee hours.

I ended up leaving at midnight, I was exhausted! I woke up early the next day, and took my 1st midterm and headed out to Prairie View A&M. I wanted to go to the Texas Southern University cook off, but I had to choose, and I typically have an excellent time at Prairie View. I did not attend the school, but I know tons of people who have attended. So it’s almost like a family reunion of sorts. After I set my homecoming out, I ended up going home and sleeping off the days events. I woke up the next day and immediately studied/prepared for my test. That was a very difficult test, and I pray I passed it. It was not the easiest thing to take. I ended up spending Sunday laying around the house and playing with Gizmo my dog. He got a haircut and he looks great. I am considering dressing him up and taking him for a walk on Halloween. Since he is basically my child. LOL.

Today I will get back to my workouts ( I missed them!) Today is Triceps, Calves and Abs day! WHOOP!  Get you some! I also have a very heavy school schedule this week and basically for the rest of the semester. Who knew that two classes would kick my butt?! Yikes. Time management is of the essence.

Shoulders, Calves and Abs

Yesterday I hit the gym pretty hard and rocked out my workout. I did my shoulders, calves and abs. I thought the workout would be easy being that there were not that many exercises. No. My shoulders were on fire and I had the slow disoriented waddle, when I walked out the gym yesterday. My workout consisted of:

20 mins on the elliptical

150 reps, per side of Seated bar bell twists w/ 20lb bar

3 sets to failure in 15 reps of Side Lateral raises w/10lb

3 sets to failure in 15 reps  of Front Dumbbell Raises w/ 10lbs

Superset of

3 sets to failure in 12 reps of Side lateral raises w/ 5lbs

3 sets to failure in 15 reps of Front Dumbbell Raises w/ 10lbs

Machine Shoulder Military Press w/ 25lbs

1 warm up set of 8 reps

3 sets to failure in 15 reps

7 sets of Seated bent over Rear Delt Raises in 15 reps w/ 15 lbs

Standing Calf Raises 1 warm up set of 10 reps and 5 sets of 20 reps

3 sets to failure 20 reps each of Sit ups

Elliptical for 20 mins

150 twists w/ 20lb bar

I was pooped I tell you!!!  I also noticed this amazing phenomenon. A lot of women do not lift. I got a lot of stares and questionable looks as to why I was in the free weights area. Usually a woman is accompanied by a man in this area to be trained briefly or they are just passing by. So, it is overall a male dominated area. Most women dominate the cardio equipment. I would like to encourage all of my female fitness enthusiasts to join me! Come to the weight area. It is not a scary place, it actually is a great place to look at men! lol See the various forms and different workouts that other people do. I am a beginner out there in the weighted world, but I would like to see women get their weights, and toning in too! I am all about showing these guys what I can do! The stares were welcomed by me, and I even got a few smiles out the guys when they saw me working hard!

Today is leg day and I have my handicap sticker ready lol. I may be crawling out the gym when I finish wish me luck.

Garage Fit, Beauty Overhaul and etc

On tuesday,

20130711-122542.jpg

I went for more Garage fit. He worked my lower back, and ab muscles and helped me with my knee’s flexibility. I cannot sit on my feet comfortably. So, he gave me homework and told me to practice it so I could get a better range of motion. I really think it has more to do with my nerves than anything. I will get through this!!! I burned 600+ calories and fell asleep before my head hit the pillow. Gizmo, naturally was not excited about that. My dog lives for a game a fetch. I don’t. LOL. But his interests are my interests.

I have been in the business of buying new shoes. Shoes for leisure. I have a tendency to wear shoes out, because I wear them repeatedly. I have holes and cracks and some in a lot of my favorite shoes. So, I bought new ones!!! This certainly was not planned, but when you follow a gangload of fashionistas and have a few as friends, the shopping bug will bite you! So this is what I bought! (Can you tell I am excited)

and while searching for these shoes I found a lot more deals. Target is having a nice sale! I need a second job to support my recent shoe fetish. LOL.

Yesterday, I had my root canal and crown put in and I looked like a blow fish. Whatever they numbed me with was amazing. I had a great rapport with my Endodontist(A dentist who only does root canals) and my doctor. Take a look at my pic:

Today was supposed to be a Garage Fit day, but something came up with my trainer, so I may just ride my bike. I haven’t rode in 3 weeks! Crazy!!!! Well I hope everyone is doing fine. I am just excited to finally be back to normal!
